Michael Fowler Centre
His music has been performed live on an Arctic ice-floe and as soundtracks for Oscar and Golden Globe-winning films. Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi is returning to Wellington with a new album to explore with audiences. The Michael Fowler Centre will be filled with Ludovico’s special mix of neo-classical, pop, ambient, rock, and experimental styles. His modern soundscapes are renowned for being able to cross artistic and generational boundaries. Because of this, he has become one of the world’s most-streamed classical music artists.
Ludovico began composing in the 1980s for theatre and ballet. He has since gone on to write for film and television and produce multi-million-selling albums. His most recent is ‘The Summer Portraits’, written in 2025, which is the result of a cascade of personal memories triggered by sun, summer, and family holidays. Here, he returns to the lush full-band textures of earlier works. You’ll get to hear this first-hand, so don’t miss your chance.
